Experiences characterize our existence; it is the sum of both significant and mundane daily instances garnered over the years. Be it a physical, mental, or even a virtual one, these interrelated encounters can easily change our lives and shape our existence.
As we continue to assimilate new experiences throughout our lives, some experiences are felt, and then forgotten. Such memories reside only within ones mind, without an avenue to be preserved for remembrance or reflection or shared. TRANSMISSION: EXPERIENCE will base the intent of exploring experiences as the input, and the transmission as the output.
TRANSMISSION: EXPERIENCE is a venture into contemplation, inspired by a multitude of possibilities- from personal or un-personal reminiscences, existence or even the surreal state of imagination. TRANSMISSION: EXPERIENCE allows for the extraction, conservation and continuation of such stories for generations to come, capturing these in a moment time, which will prevent their vanishing existence. This project also seeks to inspire viewers, through the contributorsʼ interpretations of the theme into visuals, to react and create their own transmissions through personal stories. The 2010 exhibition will be presented by TRANSMISSION: LAB and co-presented by ICAS.
The TRANSMISSION: LAB is a joint collaboration between PHUNK and LASALLE College of the Arts.
